COMCAST!

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

3/8 was a rainy Sunday.  What better thing to do on such a day than blog?

I grabbed my lappy toppy only to find that the internet.. was.. moving.. so.. slowly.

It wasn’t completely turned off like last time.

(We forgot to pay the bill -which PS Comcast will shut a bitch down in a second without apologizing.)

The internets was just slow. A snails pace slow.

I was pissed. Not just because I couldn’t blog, but rather because Comcast just finished up shelling out millions to their “Dream Big” spot. AKA.. this little gem:

Yea, its catchy. Yea, I loved the use of ROTFLOLing.

But its not going to make me forgive Comcast for having a “service disruption” after a little rain.

What made me forgive Comcast wasn’t Comcast at all. It was Bill! Peep out these tweets:

TotesObvi Comcast (Bill)  know’s up.

Computer: 1 TV: 0

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

I don’t “watch” TV anymore. It’s more of a “listen ” as I have it on while I’m on the computer.  When I do watch, it’s OnDemand. Paul Graham (a  programmer/venture capitalist/the guy that made Yahoo! Stores possible) wrote an interesting article, “Why TV Lost

From the article,

“Twenty years ago people noticed computers and TV were on a collision course and started to speculate about what they’d produce when they converged. We now know the answer: computers. It’s clear now that even by using the word “convergence” we were giving TV too much credit. This won’t be convergence so much as replacement. People may still watch things they call “TV shows,” but they’ll watch them mostly on computers.

Now would be a good time to start any company that competes with TV networks. That’s what a lot of Internet startups are, though they may not have had this as an explicit goal.”
