		<description>a few years ago target completely took over the new yorker- every single advertisement in the entire magazine was for target, the big read target was everywhere, and, like most of their advertising, actually looked pretty cool.  i couldnt imagine wal-mart doing anything like that, except maybe gunz&amp;ammo mag.  if for some reason walmart did do something like that, i guarantee new yorker readers would be in an uproar over it..

also, a "target versus walmart" search brings up a lot of goofy conversations on the theme.  apparently a lot of people prefer walmart because target is owned by the french.  (yes, this confusion comes from the dumb joke of pronouncing it tar-zhay and people taking it seriously.)</description>
